Cornell Concrete Constructions is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team on a part-time temporary assignment. Based in Narre Warren VIC 3805, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to our financial operations during a period of increased demand. Whether you're looking for flexible work or seeking to gain experience in the construction industry, this temporary position provides valuable experience in a dynamic business environment.
What you'll be doing
Recording and processing financial transactions accurately and timely into accounting systems using MYOB
Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment scheduling
Reconciling bank statements and general ledger accounts on a regular basis
Preparing and maintaining financial records and documentation in accordance with accounting standards
Processing payroll information and ensuring accurate wage calculations and deductions
Assisting with the preparation of financial reports and statements as required
Responding to financial enquiries and providing support to the finance team
Supporting month-end and year-end closing processes
Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial information
What we're looking for
Proven bookkeeping experience, ideally within a construction or trades-related environment
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
Strong numeracy skills and exceptional attention to detail
Understanding of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping practices
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent organisational and communication skills
A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to support the wider team
Relevant qualifications such as a Diploma in Bookkeeping or Certificate in Accounting are advantageous
Experience with payroll processing and bank reconciliation is preferred
