Female Disability Support Workers - Lake Macquarie

About the Opportunity:
Due to recent growth, we are seeking warm, energetic and relationship-focused female Support Workers to join our team supporting two young women with primary psychosocial disabilities (ASD Level 3, Moderate Intellectual Disability and ADHD) in their home and community.
Our vision for this home is to build a positive, stable and engaging environment where both young women feel supported to build independence, participate in their community and enjoy meaningful social connections. The right team will play a huge role in shaping this house's success through the strength of the relationships they build.

About the Role

• Providing in-home support with daily tasks such as meal preparation, personal care and medication administration.
• Assisting with domestic duties around the home.
• Actively supporting the clients to engage with their community, enjoy new experiences and pursue their lifestyle goals.
• Encouraging independence and confidence in a way that reflects each client's choice and control.
• Creating a calm, structured and sensory-aware environment that supports each client's routine and communication needs.
• Applying positive behaviour support strategies to respond safely and consistently to behaviours of concern.

About You
You'll be warm, approachable and easy to talk to. You build trust quickly and understand that great support goes far beyond personal care, it's about relationships, community and quality of life. Specifically, you bring:

• Minimum two years' experience supporting people with disability, particularly those with autism, intellectual disability and complex behavioural needs.
• Strong relationship-building skills and a natural ability to connect with young adults.
• Confidence using positive behaviour support and de-escalation techniques, staying calm under pressure.
• An encouraging rather than directive style, empowering clients to lead their own choices.
• Genuine energy, initiative and reliability, someone who takes ownership rather than waiting for direction.
• Strong communication skills, especially with clients who use limited or alternative forms of communication.
• A team-player mindset with clear, professional communication with co-workers and stakeholders.
• Certificate III in Disability (or similar) and current CPR and First Aid certificates.
• Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• NSW Driver's Licence and own car preferred.
