Estimator / Scheduler

Metrowest is seeking an experienced and motivated Estimator / Scheduler to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator with civil construction experience to play a key role in pricing and securing new telecommunications projects across Western Australia.

Based in Belmont, Metrowest is a well-established commercial contractor with a strong client base and steady project pipeline. We specialise in the construction and upgrading of telecommunications infrastructure, including tower builds, steelwork installation, antenna upgrades and structural remediation.

About the Role

Working closely with our management and project teams, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders and estimates for Telecommunications projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing tender documentation, drawings and specifications

• Preparing detailed project estimates and costings

• Preparing take-offs and quantities

• Obtaining and assessing subcontractor and supplier pricing

• Developing labour, plant, material and subcontractor costs

• Identifying project risks, exclusions and opportunities

• Preparing tender submissions and supporting documentation

• Liaising with clients, suppliers and subcontractors

• Assisting with project handovers following successful tenders

• Maintaining estimating records and pricing databases

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using appropriate scheduling tools.

• Update project schedules based on site progress and operational changes.

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery.

Role Requirements  

• Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or equivalent experience. 

• 5-10 years’ experience in an estimating role (within the construction industry will be an added advantage). 

• Proficiency in estimating and scheduling software.  

• Experience working with Telecommunication projects will be highly desirable.
