About the role

Join the talented culinary team at The Home Interior / Inhouse Kitchen in Nelson Bay NSW as a Chef. This is a full-time role working in our well established restaurant / cafe. You will be an integral part of the kitchen operations, preparing and cooking delicious meals, bringing your wealth of experience and knowledge that will help showcase the best local produce and delight our guests.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes to the highest standard using fresh, seasonal ingredients
• Maintain excellent stock control and waste management practices
• Collaborate with the Head Chef and use your skills and experience to develop new and innovative flavours and menu items
• Ensure all kitchen operations adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations
• Mentor and train junior kitchen staff to uphold our high standards
• Work closely with the front-of-house team to deliver an exceptional dining experience

About you

• Proven experience as a Chef in a similar restaurant / cafe hospitality environment
• Strong culinary skills and a keen eye for presentation and detail
• Excellent time management and the ability to work efficiently under pressure
• A passion for creating delicious and visually appealing dishes
• A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Sound Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations

Pay: $80,000.00 – $82,500.00 per year
