We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Plant Health Care Technician / Horticulturalist to join our growing specialist Plant Health Care team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about trees, plants and urban forestry who wants to build a rewarding career helping improve the health and longevity of Melbourne's urban forest.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct plant health assessments and monitoring

• Diagnose and treat pest and disease issues

• Perform advanced tree and shrub planting

• Undertake tree transplanting and establishment programs

• Carry out formative and structural pruning of young trees

• Assist with integrated plant health care programs

• Operate stump grinding equipment

• Maintain high standards of safety, quality and customer service

About you

• Passionate about trees, plants and urban forestry

• Strong understanding of plant health and pest management

• Reliable and self-motivated

• Able to work independently and within a team

• Committed to safety and quality outcomes

• Current Victorian Driver Licence

• Commitment to safe work practices

• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship

Highly Regarded

• Certificate III or IV in Horticulture, Arboriculture or equivalent

• Chemical Users Certificate (ACUP)

• MR Truck Licence

• Experience towing trailers

• Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)

• Experience in plant health care, pest and disease management or arboriculture
