We are currently seeking an experienced and versatile Diesel Fitter with strong diesel generator experience to join our team. This position will primarily focus on generator servicing, maintenance and repairs, while also supporting the wider maintenance team when generator-specific work is not required.

Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out scheduled major and minor servicing, repairs and general maintenance on diesel-powered generators.
Identify and troubleshoot mechanical faults, completing repairs and replacing components where required.
Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to improve equipment reliability and minimise unplanned downtime.
Test generator systems following servicing or repairs to confirm safe and efficient operation.
Assist with electrical components and systems associated with generator operation.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, service documentation and job reports.
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with site procedures, safety standards and workplace health and safety requirements.
Provide general maintenance assistance to the wider team when diesel fitting duties are not required.
Recognised trade qualification in Diesel Fitting, Heavy Vehicle Mechanical or a closely related mechanical trade.
Previous hands-on experience servicing, maintaining and repairing diesel generators.
Demonstrated fault-finding, diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities.
Sound understanding of diesel generator fuel, cooling and electrical systems.
Ability to interpret technical documentation, service manuals and schematics.
Current valid Driver’s Licence.
Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue / Mines Rescue.
Previous experience working with generator brands such as Cummins, CAT and Perkins.
Current Forklift and/or HR Driver’s Licence.
Experience or knowledge of electrical and generator control systems.
Previous experience within mining, resources, heavy industry or site-based maintenance environments.
This position would suit a hands-on and adaptable tradesperson who is comfortable working across a variety of maintenance activities. While diesel generator maintenance will be the primary responsibility, there will be times when generator-specific work is limited.
During these periods, you will work alongside and provide support to the broader maintenance team, assisting with general maintenance activities and other tasks as required.
We are looking for someone who is safety-focused, reliable, team-oriented and willing to lend a hand wherever needed.
This is an 8:6 Roster FIFO from Perth to West Musgrave and will be for a 3-6 month contract.
