TJ Bryant PTY LTD We are seeking a capable, driven Design Engineer to join our design team. This is a full-time role based at our O'Connor, WA workshop, using SolidWorks with the SWOOD add-on to take client briefs through to 3D models, technical drawings and production-ready output, supported by CNC programming and prototyping.

Task & responsibilities Design and develop custom cabinetry/fit-out products using SolidWorks with the SWOOD add-on for 4x4 and campervan applications, drafting 3D models and technical drawings from client briefs.

Design sheet metal components for 4x4 and campervan accessories, including water tanks, external accessories, and mounting brackets. Produce detailed engineering documentation for outsourcing to local or overseas suppliers. Program CNC machinery using CAM software (SWOOD CAM) to convert designs into toolpaths for manufacturing in plywood and aluminium.

Design and produce 3D-printed prototype parts to validate form, fit, and function before production. Collaborate with a 12V auto electrician to integrate electrical systems into product designs, ensuring compliance with wiring rules and safety standards. Collaborate with clients and workshop staff to deliver high-quality products.

Maintain a design library of standard components and manufacturing templates for reuse. Collaborate with a marketing agency to produce 3D renders for a configurable 3D viewer on the website. Qualification & experience Minimum Requirements A Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering or a related discipline.

Proficiency in SolidWorks; experience with SWOOD (or willingness to learn). Experience designing sheet metal components to manufacturable tolerances. Sound knowledge of DFM, GD&T, and producing clear technical documentation for external manufacturers.

Strong communication skills, including liaising directly with clients and trades. Working rights in Australia, high attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills. Self-motivated, collaborative, reliable and honest.

  Highly Desirable Experience in the 4x4, campervan, caravan, or marine industries. Experience with SWOOD CAM or other CAM software for CNC toolpath programming. Experience with 3D-printed prototyping and 12V DC electrical systems (design integration perspective).

A portfolio of relevant work, and material selection knowledge across plywood and aluminium. Hand calculations, FEA experience, or coordinating 3D renders for marketing/web use.
