Position Summary
NSW In Home Care for Early Childhood (NSWIHC) is a not-for-profit organisation providing flexible, personalised early childhood education and care for eligible families in the family home. Established in 2001, NSWIHC is a business arm of NSW Family Day Care Association and delivers In Home Care across New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory and Tasmania. As an approved Child Care Subsidy provider, NSWIHC operates under Family Assistance Law and relevant state and territory regulatory requirements.
The In Home Care Facilitator (IHCF) works closely with families and educators to support safe, high quality In Home Care. The role coordinates family and educator placements, supports educator practice, monitors quality and compliance, and builds strong relationships with families, educators, and other key stakeholders. As part of the IHC Service Provision team, the IHCF works within the IHC National Guidelines and service policies and procedures.
Essential criteria
Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or higher approved equivalent qualification.
Demonstrated understanding of child protection, mandatory reporting, and child safe practices.
Demonstrated knowledge of approved learning frameworks and contemporary early childhood education and care practice.
Current NSW Working with Children Check and willingness to obtain a Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People check.
Current National Police Check
Current driver's licence and access to a reliable motor vehicle.
Current Child Protection Certification or willingness to attain.
Excellent communication, organisational and relationship-building skills.
Strong computer literacy and ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Key responsibilities
Coordinate placements between eligible families and registered IHC educators.
Support the recruitment, registration, and onboarding of suitable IHC educators.
Build strong relationships with families, educators, and key stakeholders.
Conduct home safety assessments and regular monitoring and support visits.
Support families with their care arrangements and ongoing In Home Care needs.
Mentor and support educators in their practice to deliver high quality education and care programs.
Monitor compliance with service policies, legislation, and quality standards.
Maintain accurate family and educator records and contribute to service reporting.
Respond to enquiries, incidents, and complaints professionally and promptly.
