The Role
The Nursing Unit Manager is the registered nurse in charge of a ward/unit or group of wards/units or a service (e.g. Child and Family Health) within SESLHD.
The Nursing Unit Manager – Gynaecology Outpatients will have accountability for the daily clinical and operational management of this area which provides a comprehensive range of speciality ambulatory services including Benign Gynaecology, Endogynaecology, Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology, Menopause, Chronic Pelvic Pain, Reproductive Gynaecology, Contraception, Gynae- Endocrine, Urogynaecology, Surgical Preadmission, and procedure clinics including Hysteroscopy, insertion and removal of Intra-uterine devices, Urodynamics and Colposcopy.
The Nursing Unit Manager is responsible to the Nursing Clinical Co-Director Gynaecology Services with a professional reporting line to the Director of Nursing and Midwifery Services and functions within the Policies and Procedures of the NSW Health, SESLHD, Royal Hospital for Women and the Nursing and Midwifery Division. The Nursing Unit Manager will liaise and communicate with the Clinical Nurse Consultant –Gynaecology Specialty Services, Gynaecology Outpatient Administration Officers, nursing and allied health and medical staff.
