Storeperson, Driver

About the role

Based in the Strathpine area this position would suit someone with knowledge of fasteners (nuts, bolts, screws, anchors, etc) or has an interest in the field and will include warehousing, stock control, inventory management, retail and trade counter sales as well as deliveries (company owned ute and truck).

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential

• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn

• Good general computer operation skills

• Ability to learn and operate effectively a computerised inventory management system.

• Capable written and verbal communication skills appropriate to technical clients

• Ability to work both individually and as part of a team

• Physically fit and capable of lifting at least 15kg safely

• Driver's licence

• Cover Letter addressing the criteria for this position

Desirable

• Ability to correctly identify a wide range of fasteners and understand their use

• Warehouse experience in picking, packing and shipping

• Forklift licence OR some experience with an electric “walkie stacker” or “stand on stacker”

• LR (Light Rigid) drivers licence

Objectives (built during probation)

• Understand the layout of the warehouse and be able to identify and correct errors

• Effectively balance the need for accuracy and speed in picking and packing

• Achieve proficiency in the operation of the inventory management system

• Service retail and trade customers from the sales desk

• Plan efficient delivery routes

• Understand how to properly secure and manage loads for different vehicles

• Safe & efficient use and operation of the electric standing stackers (mini forklift)

• Cleaning
