Role Description The Medical Receptionist is a part-time, on-site role based at Plaza Central Medical and Aesthetics on the Sunshine Coast, QLD. Day-to-day responsibilities include greeting patients, managing check-in and check-out processes, and handling appointment scheduling and changes. The role involves answering phone calls, responding to patient inquiries, and maintaining accurate patient records and documentation. The Medical Receptionist supports clinicians by coordinating patient flow, processing payments, and ensuring the reception and waiting areas are tidy and organized. This position also requires adherence to privacy, confidentiality, and clinic policies while providing professional, courteous service to every patient.
Qualifications
Strong appointment scheduling abilities, including managing calendars and coordinating patient bookings.Professional phone etiquette and customer service skills for handling calls and patient inquiries.Experience with general receptionist duties, such as front desk operations, greeting patients, and managing check-in/check-out.Basic understanding of medical terminology to support accurate communication and documentation.Familiarity with medical office procedures, electronic medical records, and billing or payment processes.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with attention to detail.Ability to work collaboratively in a clinical team environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.Previous experience in a medical or healthcare reception role is desirable.Competence with standard office software and practice management systems.
