About the role:
Reporting to the Project Superintendent, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating asphalt and associated pavement works, ensuring activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project specifications, quality requirements and program.
You will get the opportunity to work on a wide range of engineering and civil infrastructure projects, with responsibilities including:
• Supervise asphalt paving and associated pavement activities across project sites.
• Coordinate employees, subcontractors, asphalt crews, plant and materials to achieve daily production targets.
• Plan and sequence works in conjunction with project engineers, superintendents and other site supervisors.
• Coordinate asphalt supply, deliveries and paving operations to maximise productivity and minimise delays.
• Monitor preparation, placement, compaction, levels and finished quality of asphalt works.
• Ensure works comply with project specifications, drawings, quality requirements and relevant standards.
• Conduct pre-starts, toolbox meetings and daily work planning activities.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality and environmental requirements.
• Identify and resolve site issues impacting safety, quality, productivity or program.
• Maintain accurate site records and communicate progress and resource requirements to the project team.
Your skills and experience:
• Demonstrated experience supervising asphalt paving and road construction works within the civil construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of asphalt placement, paving, compaction and pavement construction methodologies.
• Experience coordinating asphalt crews, subcontractors, plant and material deliveries.
• Experience delivering major road and civil infrastructure projects.
• Experience working to Main Roads WA specifications will be highly regarded.
• Strong planning, leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and work programs.
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence and Construction White Card.
