Are you an experienced Civil Designer looking for an opportunity to put your expertise to work on projects that shape our region? Join our team of visionary thinkers and dedicated professionals, where you can bring your extensive experience, technical expertise and problem-solving skills to a diverse range of civil infrastructure projects.
The Senior Civil Designer is responsible for the preparation of infrastructure designs suitable for delivery by both internal and external construction teams. Utilising 12D and AutoCAD software packages, the position is involved in all stages of project development and delivery, including initial site investigation, concept development, detail design and preparation for certification, through to providing technical advice to the construction and project management teams to ensure the successful delivery of works. This role assists with the daily supervision, technical guidance and 'on-the-job' training of junior staff, along with the project management of external consultants from time to time.
You will hold an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering or another relevant tertiary qualification and possess the technical expertise and ability to deliver projects on time and as required by customers. You will have:
A Queensland Construction Industry White Card (or National equivalent) and a current Queensland C class driver’s licence are essential for this role. Demonstrated design skills in water, waste water or electrical services and prior experience in Local or State Government will be highly regarded
You will be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, Australian permanent resident or have unrestricted work rights in Australia. You must be able to provide evidence that you can legally work in Australia upon request. Mareeba Shire Council does not offer employer visa sponsorship.
