About us

Arthead has been operating for 30 years. We specialise in custom picture framing, fine art printing and scanning, photographic services and art materials. Our main workshop and production facility is located in Braemar in the Southern Highlands. We are a small team and are looking for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work and is interested in developing new practical and technical skills.

About the role

This is a varied, hands-on position working across custom picture framing workshop, digital printing and scanning department, and retail area. No two days are necessarily the same. Depending on the work being produced, you may be assisting with custom framing, preparing photographs and artwork for printing, scanning images, serving customers or helping keep production organised.

Key responsibilities

• Assisting with the production and assembly of custom picture frames

• Preparing matboards, glazing, backing boards and framing materials

• Handling customers' artworks and photographs carefully and safely

• Assisting with fine art and photographic printing and scanning

• Preparing and organising digital image files

• Using Adobe Photoshop, Bridge and other digital imaging software

• Checking finished framing and printing work for quality

• Assisting customers and processing retail sales

• Helping customers with art materials and general enquiries

• Receiving and handing over customer orders

About you

• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce neat, precise work

• Good communication and customer service skills

• Confidence using computers and learning new software

• Good numeracy and measuring skills

• Good organisational and time-management skills

• The ability to follow procedures accurately

• An enjoyment of practical, hands-on work

• The ability to work independently and as part of a small team

• Reliability and punctuality

• A willingness to help across different areas of the business
