Albury Basketball Association (ABA) is one of regional Australia's leading basketball organisations, delivering domestic competitions, representative programs, participation initiatives and community basketball opportunities across the Greater Albury region.
As we continue to grow, we're seeking a passionate Basketball Development Officer to lead the delivery and expansion of our junior development programs while helping strengthen the pathways for players and coaches across our Association.
Reporting to the Basketball Operations Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering ABA's strategic vision by increasing participation, enhancing player and coach development, and creating meaningful basketball experiences throughout our community.
This is a hands-on role focused on introducing more people to basketball and providing quality development opportunities for players, coaches and members of our Association.
The successful applicant will lead the design, delivery and growth of ABA's core development programs, including Aussie Hoops, Sporting Schools and ABA Academy, while supporting representative basketball through coach education, athlete development and pathway initiatives.
Working closely with schools, clubs, coaches, volunteers and families, you'll have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on basketball across the Albury community.
Lead the delivery and growth of the Aussie Hoops program.
Design and deliver Sporting Schools programs tailored to individual school needs.
Coordinate and develop the ABA Academy and other junior development programs.
Plan and deliver holiday camps, skills clinics and basketball development activities.

Build strong relationships with schools, coaches, clubs and community stakeholders.
Identify opportunities to grow participation and improve existing programs.
Manage the administration, reporting and promotion of development programs.
Contribute to the ongoing implementation of ABA's strategic vision for basketball development.
You are passionate about basketball and enjoy helping others develop both on and off the court. You're an excellent communicator who enjoys building relationships, creating engaging learning environments and making a positive impact within your community.
You'll bring:
Strong basketball knowledge and coaching experience.
A passion for player and coach development.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Strong organisation and time management.
The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
Initiative, creativity and a genuine desire to grow the game.
Current Driver Licence.

Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
Availability to work evenings, weekends and occasional travel as required.
We're looking for the right person as much as the right skill set. If you're passionate about basketball and believe you can make a positive impact, we'd love to hear from you—even if your experience doesn't align perfectly with every aspect of this role. While this advertisement outlines our ideal position, we're open to shaping the role around the strengths, experience and aspirations of the successful applicant.
Salary will be negotiated based on experience and qualifications and paid in accordance with the Sporting Organisations Award.
Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your experience, passion for basketball development and why you would be a great fit for the Albury Basketball Association.
