ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Casual Registered Nurse with significant experience and passion in Cardiac and Pulmonary care to join our dynamic, friendly and skilled multidisciplinary team.

Our highly experienced Cardiac Nurse is a vital part of the clinical treating team for these patients who are attending our Day Programs. Following assessment by our Rehabilitation Physicians, our Cardiac Nurses undertake thorough 1:1 assessments of patients, including discussing patient’s medication, education about their disease and symptoms, completing an ECG and full history-taking and psychological questionnaires, before our Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists then complete their functional and fitness Cardiac assessments. Our patients then attend x3/week for 8-10 weeks under our care, which includes educational sessions from yourself, Dietitians, Occupational Therapists, and Social Workers, alongside their progressive exercise program with the therapists.

As part of Macquarie Health Corporation, the role could be utilized across multi-sites, such as at Manly Waters Private Hospital, and Longueville Private Hospital.

You would need to demonstrate effective time management, with a high standard of written and verbal communication skills, and a strong willingness to work successfully as part of a team. You would have significant passion and experience in the Cardiac field, and able to provide an excellent level of knowledge and education to benefit our patients in this highly specialized program.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

·        Registered Nurse

·        APHRA registration / Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)

·        Specific post graduate qualifications and/or relevant short course work/or 6-8 years post graduate basic experience in the cardiac or pulmonary specialty area.

·        Eligible Visa or Working Rights

·        Current National Police Check

·        Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as within a team, exercising independent professional judgement and clinical reasoning

·        Demonstrate high level of interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

·        Excellent time management and organisational skills.
