Location: Canberra, ACT

Start date: ASAP

Duration: Approx. 12 months with potential to extend

Pay rate:
APS5: $59.46 - $63.53 per hour plus 12% superannuation
APS6: $65.56 - $73.71 per hour plus 12% superannuation

Security requirements:
APS5: Current NV1 security clearance essential (NV2 highly desirable)
APS6: Current NV2 security clearance essential

Overview

An exciting opportunity is available for experienced administration and coordination professionals to join a high-performing intelligence coordination function within a Federal Government department.

These roles operate in a fast-paced, sensitive environment and provide a key interface between departmental officers and intelligence services. You will support the coordination of high-volume, time-critical tasking, manage access to secure facilities and deliver responsive, professional customer service.

Opportunities are available at both the APS5 and APS6 levels, with the APS6 position providing leadership and direction to a small administrative team and contributing to broader change and transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities:

APS5 Intelligence Coordination Officer

• Provide high-quality customer service through a central coordination hotline and inbox.
• Coordinate access to secure facilities, including calendar management and front-of-house service delivery.
• Track and administer sensitive security and intelligence tasking across the branch.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate and prioritise requests.
• Track feedback and customer experiences and assist with qualitative and quantitative reporting.
• Support change management and transformation activities.
• Manage competing priorities and high volumes of time-sensitive work while maintaining accuracy and discretion.

APS6 Team Lead – Intelligence Coordination

• Provide leadership and direction to a small administrative team delivering intelligence coordination services.
• Oversee the delivery of high-quality customer service through the central coordination hotline and inbox.
• Manage and coordinate access to secure facilities, including calendar management and front-of-house service delivery.
• Maintain accountability for the tracking and administration of sensitive security and intelligence tasking.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with departmental stakeholders and intelligence services.
• Analyse and report on customer feedback and service metrics for senior management.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of improved processes and systems.
• Support change and transformation initiatives designed to modernise and uplift intelligence coordination capabilities.

Experience/requirements:

• Strong administration, coordination and customer service skills.
• Experience managing high volumes of competing and time-critical tasks.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to deliver processes efficiently.
• Sound judgement, discretion and a high level of personal integrity.
• The ability to work independently and remain effective in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to develop productive internal and external relationships.
• Personal resilience, flexibility and adaptability.
• The ability to think strategically and respond effectively to changing priorities.
• Previous experience in a fast-paced customer service or coordination environment is highly desirable.
• For the APS6 opportunity, demonstrated experience leading or supervising a small team is highly desirable.
