Community Supervisor - Rough Edges Community Centre

• Position: Part-Time (Wednesday and Thursday evenings, 6.00pm - 10.00pm) (8hrs total)
• Location: Rough Edges Community Centre, Ministry of the Anglican Parish of Darlinghurst
• Reports to: Community Manager, Rough Edges Community Centre

About the Role:

The Community Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operation of the evening meal service at the Rough Edges Community Centre. The role involves preparing the centre for nightly services, supporting volunteers, ensuring the safety and smooth delivery of the meal service. The supervisor also ensures that accurate records and reports are maintained through the data management system.

 Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and enact the preparation and clean-up of the Rough Edges Community Centre for the evening meal service.
• Work alongside the Rough Edges Caseworker and volunteers to ensure the smooth and safe delivery of the meal service.
• Monitor and manage patron behaviour during meal service, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all attendees.
• Record shift details, including meal service data, volunteer participation, and any notable incidents, in the data management system and SJCS incident reporting protocols.
• Ensure all patrons are treated with dignity and respect, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.
• Provide referrals to the Caseworker, working collaboratively with the Rough Edges team to ensure that any special needs of patrons are referred on appropriately
• Assist the Program Manager in ensuring that all operational procedures and safety protocols are followed during the service.
• Report any significant concerns or incidents to the Program Manager.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Ability to support a team of volunteers and maintain a positive and productive working environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with and support individuals from diverse and vulnerable backgrounds.
• Experience in maintaining records and using data management systems.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations calmly and effectively.
