About the role
This role is responsible for supporting the delivery of high-quality early childhood education and care by creating safe, inclusive and engaging learning environments where every child can thrive.
Working collaboratively with the Lead Educator and Educational Leader, you will help plan, implement and evaluate educational programs aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Framework (NQF) and National Quality Standard (NQS). You will actively supervise children, foster strong relationships with families and colleagues, contribute to children's learning and development through meaningful documentation, promote health, safety and wellbeing, and maintain a welcoming environment that reflects the values and philosophy of The Y Canberra Region.
In the absence of the Lead Educator, you will confidently provide leadership to the room team to ensure continuity of high-quality education and care.
Qualifications & Experience
· ACECQA-approved Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.
· Do Food Safely certificate, or willingness to obtain.
· Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
· Asthma and Anaphylaxis certification, or willingness to obtain.
· Y Mandatory Internal Training - completion of all required organisational online learning modules prior to commencement
· Geccko - Foundations of Child Safety Training Courses 1 & 2, or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
· Geccko - Advanced Child Safety Training Courses 3 & 4, or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
· ACT Government - Keeping Children and Young People Safe training or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
· Current Paid ACT Working With Vulnerable People card (WWVP) or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
