About the role
A licensed medicinal cannabis manufacturer is bringing a new GMP manufacturing and packaging facility online in Brisbane's eastern suburbs, and we're looking for a Production Manager to lead it. The foundations are in place: the facility is established, core procedures and quality systems are largely built, and the site has just completed its TGA inspection. What's left is the part that matters most: embedding those systems on the floor, building the team, and leading the ramp from first batches to full production. You're joining early enough that the way this facility runs will carry your mark.
The opportunity• Join in the final stretch of startup: the TGA inspection is complete, with commissioning, ramp-up and the site's first commercial production still to lead.
• A seat close to the action: you'll report to the Site Manager and work directly with executive leadership.
• Medicinal cannabis is one of the fastest-growing corners of Australian pharmaceutical manufacturing. Get in as the industry scales.
What you'll do• Plan, lead and execute day-to-day manufacturing and packaging operations.
• Execute, refine and help finalise manufacturing SOPs and Master Batch Records as the facility ramps up.
• Lead, coach and develop the production and warehouse team.
• Own GMP compliance, right-first-time documentation and deviation management, working hand in hand with QA.
• Oversee controlled drug (S8) handling, reconciliation and security in line with ODC licence conditions.
• Keep the site permanently audit-ready for ODC and TGA regulatory activities.
• Drive safety, housekeeping and continuous improvement across the site.
What you'll bring• 5+ years in manufacturing or packaging operations in a regulated environment (pharmaceutical, biotech, medicinal cannabis, food or similar), including 3+ years leading teams.
• Working knowledge of GMP (PIC/S) and TGA TGO 93, with strong good documentation practice discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in facility startup, line commissioning or technology transfer.
• Experience with deviation reporting, investigations and corrective actions.
• A degree in science, engineering or manufacturing, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• Full Australian working rights, and the ability to meet ODC Fit and Proper Person requirements under the Narcotic Drugs Act 1967.
Why join• Join early enough to shape how the facility runs, and build your own team as it grows.
• Competitive salary package.
• Career-defining experience: few production managers get to run a brand-new GMP site from its very first commercial batches.
