About the role
The VCTA Membership Engagement Officer will support the development, implementation and ongoing use of the organisation's new Higher Logic online communities platform. The role will champion the effective use of online communities to strengthen member engagement, communication, collaboration and participation. Working across membership, communications, marketing and digital systems, the role will help improve the member journey, including onboarding, support and engagement, and assist members to connect with the VCTA and with each other. A key focus of the role will be to help create a collaborative, safe, supportive and engaged online community for members. During the initial 12-month appointment, the primary focus of the role will be supporting the implementation, member adoption and early engagement use of the Higher Logic platform, while also contributing to related membership, communications and systems work.
This position is Part-time (0.5 FTE); fixed term (12 months)

Key responsibilities include:
Support the implementation, configuration and rollout of the VCTA's Higher Logic online communities platform
Assist with developing community structures, groups, permissions, member access and engagement pathways
Support testing, troubleshooting and quality assurance during implementation
Help develop user guides, templates and support materials for staff, members and volunteer leaders
Encourage and support staff, members and key stakeholders to use the platform effectively
Monitor community activity and identify opportunities to increase participation and engagement
Assist with mapping and improving the member journey, including onboarding, renewal, engagement and retention touchpoints
Support data extraction, reporting, segmentation and list management for communications and engagement purposes
Support the preparation and distribution of member communications, newsletters and campaign content
Support the development and maintenance of project plans, timelines, task lists and implementation documentation related to member engagement
About you
Excellent IT and digital literacy skills, including the ability to learn new systems, troubleshoot basic issues and support others to use digital platforms confidently
Experience supporting digital platforms, online communities, membership systems or CRM databases
Experience in member, customer, stakeholder or community engagement
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience supporting digital communications, including email campaigns, website content, social media or reporting dashboards
The ability to use member data and engagement insights to support participation, retention and positive user experiences
A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to meet deadlines and track progress
The ability to develop and implement systems, procedures and practical solutions
A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and consultatively as part of a small team
A commitment to high-quality service, continuous improvement and innovation
Experience with iMIS and/or Higher Logic, or similar membership and community platforms, would be highly regarded. Experience working in a membership association, not-for-profit, education body or professional association would also be well regarded.
