About the role
I2R Group is a leading Electrical, Automation and Control Systems integrator delivering tailored industrial solutions across Australia. Since 2013, we've specialised in practical automation systems across food & beverage, agribusiness, water and wastewater, and large-scale irrigation.
With offices in Griffith, Leeton and Brisbane, our team delivers real-world outcomes in active industrial environments. Our work spans from concept and development through to commissioning and long-term support.
I2R are looking for an experienced industrial electrician to join our team installing, maintaining, fault-finding and commissioning electrical and control systems on industrial sites. You’ll work across the full scope of a project, often alongside our automation team, on plant that keeps major production facilities running.
Key Responsibilities
• Installation, termination and wiring of switchboards, motor control centres (MCCs) and field equipment
• Installing and maintaining motor controls, variable speed drives (VSDs/VFDs) and instrumentation
• Cable installation, containment and terminations in line with AS/NZS 3000
• Fault-finding, testing and commissioning of electrical and control systems
• Working alongside our automation team on PLC and SCADA-controlled plant
• Installations in food-grade and washdown environments to the required IP and hygiene standards
• Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, single line diagrams and schematics
• Following site isolation, safety, JSA/SWMS and quality procedures
Flexibility Works Both WaysThis role isn't a rigid 7-to-3 shift with someone looking over your shoulder. Our work is scheduled around client shutdowns and production windows, so weekend work and frequent intrastate and interstate travel are a necessary and ongoing part of the job – travel and accommodation are arranged, with allowances paid on top of your base rate.
In return, you get real flexibility and autonomy: you won't be micromanaged, you'll be trusted to manage your own time and get the job done, and you'll be part of a high-performing team where you carry genuine responsibility from day one. If you're after variety, don't mind being on the road, and want a role that gives you room to grow your technical experience and step into leadership, this is a great fit.
• Competitive hourly rate / package– remuneration is flexible and scales with your experience and the contribution you bring to the team and the business
• Travel, accommodation and away-work allowances
• Varied, technically interesting industrial and automation projects
• A supportive, high-performing team with genuine career development and leadership opportunities
• Opportunity for a vehicle to be included in the package
Qualifications & Skills RequiredTo be considered for this position it is essential that you:
• Hold a current QLD Electrical Contractors License or Qualified Supervisor Certificate
• Hold a valid driver's licence
