The Role:

To manage the day-to-day office operations – import, exports, transportation, (both domestic and international) functions. The aim of this position is to ensure all shipments are efficiently processed, recovered and dispatched in time to meet schedules required by the customers. The position includes managing all aspects of operational employees, ranging from their performance to assisting with their personnel files. The position extends to creating workable formal relationships with sub-contractors (OSP) and maintaining a clear communication line with other departments within the offices and departments.

What you’ll do

• Management and supervision of operations, transport and warehouse staff

• Help reducing fixed costs and increasing gross margin working on solutions to establish new cost-efficient routes

• Increase the effectiveness and efficiency of other departments (CS, HR, BD, CRM and Finance), through operational improvements and advanced communication

• Participate in and contribute to strategic planning, including an initiative geared toward the country’s operational excellence.

• Improving the overall quality of operations, as well as in assisting with the investigation and closing of CAPAs

• Oversee overall operational management, planning, systems and controls.

• Management of OSPs relevant to the nominated region.

• Work with the warehouse staff to meet compliance, environmental & security standards

• Improve the operational systems, processes, and policies in support of organization’s mission - specifically, support management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning.

• Identify areas needed for staff cross-training and development

• Ensure end-of-day checks are completed accurately. All freight collected/delivered and exported as per customer requirements.

• Daily Gemba checklists completed and up to date.

• Culture development of Marken Roseberry branch and staff.

• General facility maintenance and compliance in line with Marken’s policies which includes but is not limited to EHS, security, access control, sustainability.

• Any additional support as per COM and GM requests.
  

What you’ll bring

• 5-year background and work experience in Operations

• Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives.

• Knowledge on international compliance & security regulations

• Budget development and oversight experience

• Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.

• Strong analytical, negotiations, strategic planning, resource management and leadership skills.

• To operate in a fast-paced, community environment

• Commercially aware

• Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
