About the Role
We are looking for a highly energetic and experienced Lead Microvellum Detailer - Drafting Team Leader to join our dynamic team at Boutique Kitchens & Joinery, where you will contribute in fostering a culture of safety and operational excellence.
Reporting to the General Manager, you'll be involved in all aspects of drafting for client approvals and engineering for production manufacturing, driving performance to align with business strategies and objectives. Your expertise in lean management will be crucial as you support and drive continual improvement. With a strong focus on safety, quality, and cost efficiency, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline our workflows and enhance overall performance.

As the Lead Microvellum Detailer you will be;
Coordinate your daily drafting outcomes and workflow in conjunction with the Leadership Team and Project Managers to ensure expectations of productivity, quality and delivery are met.
Daily Drafting / Engineering for production using microvellum outputting to Innergy and Woodtron CNC's. We also use cabinet vision and in the future will be looking towards implementing Innergy engineering.
Microvellum Library custodian for updates and coninual improvements
The challenge should you accept the drafting team leader Role, responsibilities in addition to the above include:
Targeted and continual monitoring and management of employee tasks to ensure focus on safety, quality and efficiency meet best customer and business outcomes.
Monitor scheduling sequence to maximise productivity of the 4 internal draftspeople and remote drafting resources.
Support the team to allow them to work to their full capacity.
Conduct weekly team meetings focusing on safety and quality.
Conduct huddles as required to focus on targeted strategies of Continuous improvement and process improvement.
Management and assessment of job, team and individual performance outcomes.
Coaching and development of people including the development and implementation of best practice drafting for manufacturing systems and processes.
Ensure production ‘best practice’ activities are compliant with SOPs and all staff are provided with sufficient training and review to achieve expectations of safety, quality and productivity goals.
Improvement projects (evaluation & implementation)
Prepare monthly management reports.
Build a dedicated team based on high morale, focused on high quality, great service, hunger to succeed, backed by a positive culture.
About You
Previous experience as a Lead Microvellum Detailer &/or Drafting Manager Team Leader essential, preferably within Commercial Joinery / Shop Fitting manufacturing industry or similar highly detailed small batch custom manufacturing industry.
Strong people management skills with the ability to communicate and interact with all types of people.
Experience in being the lead change agent in complex transformational activities.
Significant experience in implementation of complex Lean principals as they apply to manufacturing operations.
Proven success designing, implementing, communicating, and meeting KPI goals.
Keen eye for detail to identify potential errors and omissions when peer reviewing deliverables.
