Dynamic Civil Solutions is seeking an experienced and driven Project Engineer to join our growing team.

We’re not looking for someone to simply process paperwork and follow a project from the sidelines. We want someone who can take ownership of multiple structural & civil projects at the same time, coordinate the technical delivery, stay ahead of issues and help drive projects from planning through to completion.

You’ll also have a Graduate Engineer working under you, giving you additional support while providing an opportunity to develop your leadership and mentoring skills.

The Role

As Project Engineer, you will work closely with our Project Managers, Site Supervisors, clients, consultants and subcontractors while overseeing the engineering and technical coordination of multiple projects concurrently.

You will also be responsible for directing and mentoring a Graduate Engineer, delegating appropriate project tasks and helping develop their technical and practical construction knowledge.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the engineering and technical requirements of multiple structural & civil projects at the same time

• Reviewing construction drawings, specifications and project documentation

• Preparing and reviewing project overlays across civil, structural, survey, utilities and services drawings

• Identifying design conflicts, service clashes, discrepancies and constructability issues before they impact site

• Coordinating drawings and technical information between consultants, clients, subcontractors and site teams

• Preparing and managing RFIs, technical queries and design clarifications

• Assisting with project planning, programming and construction methodologies

• Preparing scopes of work and assisting with subcontractor and supplier procurement

• Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and site activities across multiple projects

• Monitoring project progress against programme and identifying potential delays or risks

• Managing priorities and resources across several active projects

• Completing and reviewing quantity take-offs and assisting with material procurement

• Identifying variations and changes to project scope

• Supporting progress claims with accurate quantities and technical information

• Monitoring costs, quantities, productivity and overall project performance

• Attending and contributing to client, consultant and subcontractor meetings

• Working closely with Site Supervisors to resolve technical and construction issues

• Ensuring works comply with drawings, specifications, Australian Standards and project requirements

• Managing project handover, defects, as-builts and close-out documentation

• Managing, mentoring and delegating work to a Graduate Engineer

• Reviewing the Graduate Engineer’s work and helping develop their technical and project delivery capabilities

About You

This role will suit someone who is ready to take genuine responsibility within a growing civil construction company.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has solid experience as a Project Engineer within civil and structural construction

• Can confidently manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously

• Is capable of taking ownership rather than waiting to be told what needs to happen next

• Holds a qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline

• Has strong construction drawing and technical documentation skills

• Is confident reviewing and coordinating multiple drawing packages and project overlays

• Has a strong understanding of earthworks, drainage, utilities, pavements and general civil construction

• Can identify clashes, risks and constructability issues before they become expensive site problems

• Has strong planning, problem-solving and organisational skills

• Communicates confidently with clients, consultants, subcontractors and site personnel

• Is capable of mentoring and developing a Graduate Engineer

• Has strong attention to detail while still understanding the bigger project picture

• Is comfortable moving between the office and site

• Takes ownership of problems and follows them through to resolution

• Holds a current Australian driver’s licence
