About the role
Role DescriptionThis is a contract ON-SITE role for a Trainer and Assessor in multiple programs. (Location - Islington, Newcastle - NSW). The Trainer and Assessor will be responsible for delivering training programs, assessing student competencies, and maintaining accurate records. The role includes conducting classroom-based / virtual and practical training, ensuring training materials are up-to-date, and providing feedback to students. The Trainer and Assessor will also support students in achieving their learning goals, assess their progress, and comply with the organisation’s and industry’s standards & relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:Ensuring Training and assessment is conducted in accordance with organisation’s policies and procedures.Identify the various needs of students and creating effective learning options to meet these needs.Assess student assessments in accordance with the principles of assessment and rules of evidence.Advise students on courses and related mattersProvide students with constructive feedback on their assessment outcomes, and record feedback according to requirementsMaintain records of students' progress, attendance and training activitiesBe present in the classroom prior to the delivery start time and ensure proper preparation for training delivery; ensure class is well organisedConduct oneself in a professional manner, including dressing neatly, being polite and respectful in one’s manner towards both staff and studentsReport any serious problems, of academic or other nature, to the Direct Supervisor, and Student Services and Management, as requiredCarry out tasks requested by the Direct Supervisor within a reasonable timeframe, attended team meetings provide support to peers, when requiredMonitor students course progress and communicate to students about his/her academic issues/potential risks for unsatisfactory course progress and low attendance.Participate and/or contribute to student counselling sessions, as requiredContribute to the development of resources and courses such as assessment tools, trainer and assessor guides and assessment mappingParticipate in assessment contextualisation, validation and moderations.Participate in professional development sessions, as per company requirements.Ensure Industry Currency is current within the last 12 months on an ongoing basis.
QualificationsMust have TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment equivalent or higher.Must have anyone or multiple qualifications from list below: CHC33021 - Certificate III in Individual support HLT33115 - Certificate III in Health Services assistance. CHC43121 - Certificate IV in Disability Support equivalent or higher. CHC52025 - Diploma of Community ServicesMust have minimum 2 years or more, current industry experience.Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work on-site in a classroom or training environment.
