About the role
Due to Fawkner Property growth, we are currently seeking the services of a Capital Works Project Manager to join our team in providing planning, financial management, coordination, and delivery of capital works projects for Fawkner managed retail assets across Vic, NSW, Qld and WA.
The capital works manager is responsible for planning, managing, and delivering capital infrastructure and building projects from concept to completion and handover. This role overseas budgets, schedules, contractors, and stakeholder relationships to ensure projects are delivered safely on time and within budget.
Based from our St Kilda Road office and reporting to the Development Director, the role ensures projects are delivered safely across retail assets and in accordance with Fawkner’s policies and procedures. Regular Interstate travel will be required.
Key responsibilities
Manage projects though all phases, concept, design, approvals, tender, construction, and defects
Develop project scopes, budgets, timelines, and delivery plans
Identify and find cost savings through contract procurement
Engage and manage any external resourcing including engagement of external Project Managers (if required)
Track expenditure against approved budgets and report on financial performance
Identify and manage project risks and issues
Provide regular progress reports to senior management and board
Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
Managing multiple projects concurrently
About you
Prior experience as a Project Manager, within either the property industry or construction industry ideally within retail, mixed use, or shopping centre environments
Experience working alongside leasing and centre management teams
This role would suit an experienced Project Manager with a problem-solving approach and an ability to manage various projects simultaneously
Sound knowledge of WHS legislation and risk management practices
Sound knowledge of building codes and regulations
Outstanding communication skills and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage confidently at executive level.
