Software Engineer

Software Engineer | Adelaide (Hybrid) | Rust, C++

I'm working with a growing company that sit at the intersection of software and hardware.

They're looking for a Software Engineer to join the team and contribute across the stack, from low level systems work through to tooling and internal libraries used across the business.

Day to day you'd be writing software in Rust and C++, working closely with robotics and mechatronics engineers to solve real physical world problems, and helping shape engineering practice as the team grows.

Software Engineer Responsibilities

• Designing and building software that integrates directly with hardware and automated systems
• Writing production code in Rust and C++, with scripting languages where appropriate
• Collaborating with robotics and mechatronics engineers on cross functional problems
• Contributing to code reviews, testing, and CI/CD as the team's practices mature
• Helping define technical direction and contributing to product and platform decisions

 
Software Engineer Requirements

• Solid experience in Rust and/or C++, however that experience was built
• Comfort working close to hardware, or strong interest in moving into that space
• Exposure to Qt is a plus but not required
• Someone who wants ownership and is comfortable in a small, high trust engineering team
• Git, testing discipline, and modern engineering practices

This is a genuinely hands on role at a company solving hard physical engineering problems with software, not another SaaS dashboard.
