About the role
Soteria is seeking passionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team and provide high-quality care and support to individuals with disabilities. In this casual role, you will be responsible for assisting clients with a range of daily living activities in a 24-7 SIL home setting.
What you'll be doing
Providing personalised support and assistance with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks to our complex clients
Facilitating community access and engagement, including accompanying clients to appointments, social activities, and recreational events
Implementing individual support plans and collaborating with the broader care team to ensure the best outcomes for each client
Advocating for client needs and preferences, and actively contributing to the continuous improvement of service delivery
Maintaining accurate records and documentation to support the delivery of high-quality care
What we're looking for
It is an essential requirement that you are both female and experienced in Auslan communication
Strong English language proficiency with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience supporting participants with psychosocial disability (highly regarded)
Demonstrated experience in dysphagia management, or a strong willingness and capability to undertake training and develop competence in this area
Experience supporting individuals living with dementia (desirable)
Proven reliability, professionalism, and consistency in attendance and practice
High-level documentation and report-writing skills aligned with NDIS standards
The ability and willingness to provide trauma-informed, behaviourally informed support to a participant presenting with complex behaviours
A current Australian driver's licence and reliable car
