Olivet Care is looking for enthusiastic and caring food services professionals to join our residential aged care team.

We currently have opportunities for Food Services Assistants (FSA) and Second Cooks, and we would especially welcome applicants who are experienced and confident in both roles.

Food Services Assistant

As a Food Services Assistant, you will work under the direction of the Cook or Chef Manager and help ensure residents receive safe, nutritious and appropriately prepared meals.

Key responsibilities include:

• Plating and serving meals in accordance with residents’ dietary requirements and preferences.
• Ensuring modified-texture meals are correctly prepared, plated and provided to the correct resident.
• Following food safety and kitchen serving protocols.
• Completing required meal and food safety records.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness across kitchenettes and food service areas.
• Correctly storing food and following stock rotation requirements.
• Washing dishes and completing cleaning duties.
• Participating in pre-meal huddles with care staff to understand resident movements and requests.
• Assisting with special events and responding to resident food service requests and feedback.

Second Cook

As a Second Cook, you will support the Chef Manager with the preparation and cooking of quality meals and desserts for our residents.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing daily meals in line with nutritional requirements and the electronic Diet Program.
• Preparing meals suitable for residents with different dietary, texture and cultural requirements.
• Preparing hot and cold desserts.
• Supporting menu planning, food preparation and cook-chill processes.
• Following and monitoring food safety requirements.
• Assisting with food ordering, stock management and waste reduction.
• Supporting resident feedback, complaints and menu changes.
• Coaching and supporting Food Services Assistants with kitchen serving protocols.
• Maintaining effective communication across the catering team.
• Assisting with roster management and staff replacement when required.
• Providing backup support to the Chef Manager when required.
