Epiq, Australia's premium supplier of transcription services, has offices across Australia providing court reporting, e-discovery, e-trials, and transcription services for government agencies, law firms and private clients.
The Role
We are seeking a casual Court Monitor to work on-site in the Melbourne CBD to create high-quality recordings and annotations of court proceedings. Previous experience is not required as our team provides comprehensive training and support.
You do not need experience within the legal industry or legal education to be successful in this role, so if you are looking for an industry change then this may be the role for you.
Monitors record proceedings and produce annotations or logs of those proceedings to aid in the process of accurate transcription. Proceedings may take place on site in courtrooms, at client premises, or may be recorded from the office.
Key duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Produce high quality audio recordings of hearings
Input and manage integrity of data in various databases
Produce accurate and detailed annotations of hearings to aid transcription
Liaise with court staff and key stakeholders
What we're looking for
Candidates who are willing to work on-site from our Melbourne offices, as well as travel to regional locations for recording proceedings when required.
High attention to detail.
Ability to lift and set up heavy equipment (30kg).
Availability for Monday – Friday (3-5 days/week), with willingness to work outside of standard business hours when required.
Must be available Friday, 9:00AM - 5:00PM
Australian Citizenship or permanent residency.
Must be willing to undertake any necessary security clearances such as police check.
Current driver’s licence and vehicle desirable but not required.
Administration, legal, technical, technological, sound production, or data-entry experience/background desirable.
