About the role

As our Accounts Payable Officer, you'll own the end-to-end AP function across our group of companies. Reporting into the finance team, you'll manage the full payables cycle for multiple entities, keep supplier relationships strong, and make sure every payment is accurate, approved and on time. There's also real scope to shape how things are done, with opportunities to drive automation and system improvements as the business scales.

This role would suit someone who takes pride in a clean, well-run ledger, is comfortable working across several entities and systems at once, and enjoys finding a better way to handle a repetitive task.

What you'll be doing

• Own the full AP cycle across multiple entities, from invoices and coding to approvals
• Match invoices to purchase orders and delivery documentation, resolving discrepancies with project and procurement teams
• Prepare and process accurate, on-time payment runs across entities and bank accounts
• Reconcile supplier statements and AP sub-ledgers, keeping aged payables clean
• Manage the AP inbox and act as the main point of contact for supplier queries
• Support month-end close, including accruals, AP cut-off and GL reconciliations
• Drive automation, workflow improvements and finance systems projects as the business scales
• Ensure payments are properly authorised, controls are followed, and GST/BAS coding and audit requests are supported
• Maintain accurate, verified supplier master data

What you’ll bring

To succeed in this role, you'll have:

• AP experience across multiple entities or a group structure
• Experience with Sage, Xero and Excel, and comfort working across systems
• Strong attention to detail and accurate, on-time processing
• Confidence reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies
• A proactive, improvement-minded approach
• Construction, engineering, manufacturing or project-based experience (highly regarded)
• Exposure to AP automation, ERP implementations or PO/project cost workflows (highly regarded)
