HOSPITALITY CREW WANTED | CHRISTMAS ISLAND

We’re building our team on Christmas Island and have multiple casual positions available across our hospitality group, working between The Island Pantry, The Bosun Tavern, Swell Lodge and our soon-to-open bakery.

Eligible hospitality and tourism work can count towards your 88 days / specified work requirements for qualifying Working Holiday visa holders.

We’re currently recruiting:

FRONT OF HOUSE / BARISTA - The Island Pantry / The Bosun Tavern
We’re looking for experienced hospitality all-rounders who are confident jumping between café, restaurant and bar service.

You’ll need:
• Previous hospitality experience
• Barista experience and confidence making quality coffee
• Current RSA
• Great customer service skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• A positive, flexible attitude — island hospitality means everyone pitches in

QUALIFIED CHEF
Primarily based at The Island Pantry, producing wholesome, high-quality café food, grab-and-go items, catering and retail products.

The role will also provide some support to The Bosun Tavern, Swell Lodge and our catering operations when required.

We’re looking for someone qualified, organised, adaptable and genuinely passionate about producing great food — particularly someone who enjoys working with seasonal ingredients and making the most of what is available in a remote location.

QUALIFIED BAKER
We’re preparing to launch a new bakery operation and are looking for an experienced, qualified baker to help us bring it to life.

Bread, pastries, doughs and quality baked products will form a big part of the role, with opportunities to help shape the offering from the beginning. Long term opportunity.

SWELL LODGE GUIDE | AVAILABLE UNTIL END OF OCTOBER
A unique short-term role working with guests at our luxury eco-lodge.

This is a highly guest-facing position involving tours, guest transfers, assisting with lodge operations and helping us deliver an exceptional Christmas Island experience.

We’re looking for someone personable, responsible, confident with guests and genuinely interested in the island, wildlife and environment.

HOUSEKEEPING
Working primarily across Swell Lodge and our hospitality venues.

We need someone with extremely high standards who takes pride in keeping spaces beautifully presented and organised.

Experience in hotel, resort or luxury accommodation housekeeping is highly regarded.

THE DETAILS

• All positions are casual
• Award wages + applicable penalties + superannuation
• Staff accommodation available for $100 per week
• Multiple venues = opportunity for varied work and hours
• Located on Christmas Island, WA
• Suitable roles can contribute towards specified work requirements for eligible Working Holiday Makers
• Immediate and upcoming starts available

Christmas Island is remote, tropical and unlike anywhere else in Australia. You’ll be living within a small island community surrounded by national park, incredible wildlife, beaches and some of the best diving in Australia. With this being said, supply chains can be a challenging and very real part of the role that requires candidates to be flexible, and a little creative at times.

We’re looking for people who actually want to be part of the team - reliable, hardworking hospitality people who care about what they do, treat their teammates well and are happy to get involved when things get busy.
