Category Manager

At Stratco, we're looking for a commercially minded Category Manager who's ready to make an impact.

This isn't just about managing products. It's about identifying opportunities, influencing strategy, building great supplier partnerships, and creating category plans that deliver real commercial results. You'll have the autonomy to shape your category, bring new ideas to market, and work with teams across the business to ensure we're delivering products our customers want, when they want them.

Stratco is an Australian-owned innovator, manufacturer and marketer of quality building and renovation solutions. With sophisticated manufacturing facilities, retail stores, and professional trade representation throughout Australia and New Zealand, Stratco has supplied a comprehensive range of products to the building and construction industries, and home improvement and DIY markets for over 75 years.

What You'll Be Responsible For

You'll own the performance of your category from strategy through to execution.

That means you'll:

• Build and execute category plans that drive sales, profit and market growth
• Identify trends, gaps and opportunities through customer, market and competitor insights
• Lead category reviews and optimise product ranges to keep them relevant and commercially effective
• Bring new products to market from concept through to launch
• Develop pricing and promotional strategies that maximise performance
• Partner with suppliers to negotiate strong commercial outcomes and long-term partnerships
• Work closely with Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain and Store Development to bring category plans to life! 

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who combines commercial thinking with strong execution.

You'll likely have experience in Category Management, Product Management or a similar role, along with:

• Strong commercial acumen and analytical capability
• Experience developing and executing category strategies
• Confidence managing supplier relationships and negotiations
• The ability to influence and collaborate across multiple business functions
• A customer first mindset and passion for delivering results

Bonus points if you:

• Have experience within retail, building products, manufacturing, construction, trade or home improvement environments
