Apprentice – Production Nursery

At Alpine Nurseries, we are looking for an energetic, motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice to join our Production Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn a trade, gain a nationally recognised qualification and build a long-term career in the horticulture industry.

What you'll be doing

As a Production Nursery Apprentice, you will learn all aspects of growing and caring for plants while working alongside experienced horticulturists. You will complete a Certificate III in Production Nursery, combining TAFE study with practical, hands-on learning in the workplace.

You will gain experience in areas including:

• Plant care and maintenance

• Potting and production

• Pruning and plant training

• Pest and disease monitoring

• Irrigation and watering

• Weed control and plant presentation

• Nursery machinery and equipment

• Workplace health and safety

Who we're looking for

We are looking for someone who:

• Enjoys being outdoors and working in an active environment

• Has an interest in plants, green life, agriculture or the environment

• Is energetic and enjoys physical, hands-on work

• Is smart, curious and enjoys learning how things work

• Prefers learning by doing rather than sitting behind a desk all day

• Has a positive attitude and strong willingness to learn

• Takes pride in their work and gives their best effort

• Can work well as part of a team

• Is reliable, motivated and keen to build a career

• Is willing and able to attend TAFE as part of their apprenticeship

• Can safely undertake the physical requirements of the role, including regular lifting, pushing and pulling

• Holds a current driver's licence, or is working towards obtaining one
