About the role
At Ravenhall Correctional Centre, we believe Learning is more than books. It is about enabling people to thrive, grow and change in one of the most complex and rewarding environments in Victoria. As our Library Officer, you’ll be at the heart of Ravenhall’s prison library—a space where curiosity, learning, and personal growth can genuinely make a difference. You’ll help create an environment where the people in our care can access books, legal information, and education resources that support their wellbeing and future opportunities. Adding to the delivery of GEO’s Continuum of Care philosophy.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys helping others learn, loves keeping things organised, and feels comfortable working in a unique and structured environment. You’ll run the day‑to‑day operations of the library and lend a hand to the Education Supervisor with a variety of admin tasks.
Every day brings something different: chatting with the people in our care about what they like to read, helping someone find the right legal document, keeping the library collection fresh and relevant, or supporting education programs that encourage positive change.
If you’re someone who values fairness, enjoys meaningful work, and can maintain strong professional boundaries, this role offers the chance to make a real impact—one book, one conversation, one learning moment at a time.
Your Key Impact AreasAs the Learning Resource Coordinator, you will oversee and administer the Centre's Learning Resource area (Library). You will also support the duties of the Education Supervisor as needed. This position will ensure updated and relevant information/literature is available to people in our care through a variety of media.
For more information on the role, please review the Position Description.
