Head Chef – Lead Our Pasta & Wine Bar

Part-Time | 34 hrs/week | 3-Day Weekends

We’re looking for a passionate, self-sufficient Head Chef to lead the kitchen at Felix, a small, busy pasta and wine bar in Launceston. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone confident working mostly solo in a compact kitchen, with creative input and real work-life balance.

About the Role

• Part-time, 34 hours per week.
• Four-day work week, with three-day weekends most of the year.
• You’ll run the kitchen solo most days, occasionally managing support staff during peak times.
• Creative input into seasonal rotating menus and specials using fresh, local produce.
• Responsible for all kitchen operations – ordering, prep, service, food cost control, hygiene and safety standards.
• Must have some pasta and/or Italian cuisine experience.

About You

• A confident and calm chef who thrives working independently in a small kitchen.
• Strong organisational skills and a high standard of cleanliness and efficiency.
• Experienced in menu planning, costing, and kitchen management.
• Trade-qualified with previous Head Chef or senior Sous Chef experience.
• Located in Tasmania or ready to relocate immediately.
• Food Safety Supervisor certificate (or willingness to obtain).

Pay: $34.00 – $43.00 per hour
