Live Event Operator – Audio Visual

We're looking for an experienced Live Event Operator & Technician to join our Sydney team. This role is ideal for someone who lives and breathes audio, video and lighting technology and thrives in the fast-paced world of live events.
You'll be responsible for preparing, setting up, operating and packing down a wide range of live events, ensuring every production is delivered safely, professionally and to the highest standard. Working as part of a passionate team, you'll use your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to help create exceptional event experiences for our clients.
The suitable candidate should ideally be highly experienced in live vision switching and graphics operation, as well as live event audio operation.

About the Role
As a Live Event Operator, you’ll play a key role in the setup, operation and delivery of high-end audio, video and lighting systems for live events including concerts, corporate events and broadcast environments. You’ll work closely with project managers, technical directors and clients to ensure every show runs flawlessly.

Key Responsibilities
Be deeply involved in configuration and operation of video systems for live events
Audio, Video and Lighting installs, operates and packdowns
Operate and program vision mixers, media servers, and playback systems
Oversee signal flow, routing, and system integration
Supervise and mentor junior crew onsite
Collaborate with clients and production teams to meet creative and technical requirements
Ensure all equipment is maintained, tested, and show ready
Diagnose and resolve technical issues under pressure
Skills & Experience
3+ years’ experience in live event video production
Strong knowledge of LED systems and Brands (e.g. Brompton, Vuepix, ROE Visual)
Experience with playback systems (Pro Video Player, Millumin)
Proficiency with Audio mixers and systems (Dante, Allen & Heath, Yamaha)
Proficiency with lighting consoles and systems (GrandMA3, sACN)
Proficiency with vision mixers (Barco E2, PixelHue, Blackmagic, Roland etc.)
Solid understanding of AV signal types, formats, and workflows
Ability to read schematics and technical drawings
Strong leadership and communication skills
High attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Requirements
Based in Sydney NSW
Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
Driver’s license (essential)
Forklift, EWP, or other related tickets (highly regarded)
Right to work fulltime hours in Australia without restriction
