About the role

A top opportunity exists to join a busy automotive mechanic workshop in Sandgate.
This is a full-time position for a TRADE QUALIFIED Light or Heavy vehicle mechanic to join our existing team.
We specialise in cars, mining light vehicles, small & medium truck servicing & repairs for corporate fleet customers.
We carry out a wide variety of brake and clutch repairs, diagnostics, some auto electrical work, mining fit-outs, and also tyre fitting & balancing.
We also have a mobile truck for repairs & servicing, and you may be required to do breakdown work for customers' on-site.
In this role, you will:
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Diagnostics: Test and analyse engines, transmission, and electrical faults using computerised diagnostic scanners.
Routine Maintenance: Perform scheduled logbook services, oil and filter changes, fluid checks, and tyre rotations.
Repairs & Replacements: Fix or replace worn or damaged parts in brakes, clutches, steering, suspensions, cooling systems and engines.
Compliance: Conduct safety checks and roadworthy inspections where required.
Record Keeping: Document parts used, labour hours, and service details for customer invoices and logbooks.
Have knowledge working on all types of small to medium trucks, and desirable knowledge of working on cars / light vehicles or vice versa
DPF repairs, if known, auto-electrical knowledge desirable
Possess your own tools for the role
Need to ensure that the customer has total satisfaction with the maintenance and repair work carried out
Have excellent customer service and communication skills
Tyre fitting knowledge is desirable.
Pink Slip ticket - e safety is desirable.
Heavy Vehicle licence for test driving if servicing heavy vehicles - desirable.
Having a great attitude is essential!
As a mechanic in the workshop, your contribution to the success of the business is critical.
The position will involve:
- Carrying out all repairs and maintenance in a timely and efficient manner
- Completing all relevant paperwork
- Working as a proactive team member to ensure the smooth running of the workshop
Working week Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm. 2 x 30min breaks. 40hrs paid weekly
