Senior Building Services Engineer

Ramsay Health Care is seeking an experienced Senior Building Services Engineer to provide specialist technical expertise across our Australian hospital network. Reporting to the National Engineering & Facilities Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping how Ramsay plans, delivers and optimises building services across its portfolio. Working across capital projects, asset lifecycle programs, sustainability initiatives and hospital operations, you’ll provide expertise across HVAC, electrical systems, hot water, refrigeration, lighting, energy management, solar and waste. This is an opportunity to combine strong technical engineering capability with commercial thinking, helping Ramsay deliver safer, more reliable and sustainable hospital environments while improving whole-of-life asset value. What You’ll Do

You’ll provide specialist building services expertise across a complex national portfolio, partnering with hospital leaders, engineers, project teams, consultants and contractors to deliver practical, sustainable and commercially effective solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the assessment, scoping and delivery of building services, sustainability and asset lifecycle projects.
• Provide specialist technical advice across HVAC, mechanical and electrical building services.
• Develop technical scopes, specifications, budgets, business cases and whole-of-life cost assessments.
• Provide technical input across design, tendering, procurement and project delivery.
• Establish and maintain consistent national engineering and building services standards.
• Partner with Building Services Managers and Project Managers to improve asset reliability, performance and efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption, operating costs and environmental impact.
• Support capital planning, asset replacement, redevelopment and expansion programs.
• Work closely with consultants, Design & Construction providers and contractors to ensure quality outcomes.
• Research and introduce new technologies, engineering solutions and sustainability initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching and mentoring to engineers and project teams.

What You’ll Bring

You’ll be a technically strong and commercially minded Building Services Engineer who can operate confidently across complex projects and stakeholder environments.

You will bring:

• A tertiary qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong building services engineering experience, particularly across HVAC and mechanical/electrical systems.
• Experience delivering building services design, upgrades, asset lifecycle and capital projects.
• Strong understanding of engineering standards, safety, quality and environmental requirements.
• Experience working with consultants, contractors and Design & Construction providers.
• Experience in sustainability, energy efficiency or environmental initiatives.
• Strong project management, commercial and analytical capability.
• The ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate technical issues into practical business solutions.
• Healthcare or hospital experience will be highly regarded.
