Turf Tradesperson

Australian Seed and Turf Farm is seeking an experienced and motivated Turf Tradesperson to join our team based in Carrum Downs.
This is a varied, hands-on position offering the opportunity to work across both our turf production operation and our sister company, Turf Renovations Australia.

The position would suit someone from a golf course, sports turf, turf production or similar background who is looking for a change and wants exposure to a broader range of turf operations, machinery and projects.

The successful applicant will work across our Carrum Downs turf farm as well as assisting Turf Renovations Australia with projects throughout Melbourne and Victoria.

• Turf establishment and maintenance
• Mowing and general turf production
• Fertiliser and chemical applications
• Irrigation operation and maintenance
• Operating tractors and specialised turf machinery
• Turf harvesting and preparation
• Sports field and turf renovations
• Hydroseeding
• Turf installation
• Machinery and equipment maintenance
• Assisting with major turf projects and contract works

This is a genuinely varied role, covering everything from growing and maintaining turf through to specialist renovation, hydroseeding and turf installation projects.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience within the turf industry
• Holds a relevant turf qualification or has strong practical industry experience
• Has a good understanding of turf maintenance and establishment
• Is confident operating tractors and turf machinery
• Enjoys varied, hands-on work
• Can work independently and as part of a team
• Has a strong work ethic and takes pride in their work
• Holds a current Australian driver's licence

The following would be advantageous:

• MR or HR truck licence
• ChemCert or relevant chemical application accreditation
• Spraying experience
• Irrigation experience
• Machinery operation and maintenance experience
• Turf renovation or turf installation experience

This is a full-time, 38-hour-per-week position. During our peak growing period, some Saturday work will be required, with Saturday work paid at double time.

Salary will be negotiated based on the successful applicant's qualifications, experience and capabilities.
