Commercial Manager – Drilling, Abandonment & Project Management Services

Zenith Energy is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to support our growing portfolio of drilling, well abandonment, decommissioning and project management activities.

This is a senior commercial role responsible for leading contracting, procurement and commercial strategy across Zenith’s project and business activities. The role will work closely with project leadership, technical teams, legal advisers, project controls and finance to ensure our contracts, pricing models, supplier arrangements and commercial governance are robust, practical and fit for purpose.

Experience required:

• Developing and managing contracting and procurement strategies

• Leading commercial input across drilling, abandonment and project delivery scopes

• Managing client, subcontractor and supplier contract interfaces

• Supporting tendering, negotiation, contract award and post-award management

• Identifying and managing commercial, legal and contractual risk

• Working with project controls and finance to support cost, schedule and performance management

• Ensuring commercial arrangements support safe, efficient and successful project delivery

The ideal candidate will bring strong oil and gas commercial experience, with a background in contracts, procurement, legal/commercial risk management or project commercial leadership.

Experience across drilling, wells, decommissioning, subsea or project management environments are an essential prerequisite.

Typical responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Maintaining a detailed understanding of Zenith’s contractual obligations, rights, liabilities and commercial exposures.

• Establishing the contract administration framework, including notices, correspondence, approvals, records, variations and claims.

• Advising the Leadership Team on the commercial consequences of project decisions.

• Ensuring the team does not inadvertently accept additional scope, risk or cost without appropriate contractual treatment.

• Managing commercial discussions with the various clients .

• Preparing and negotiating variations, extensions of time, relief events, commercial settlements and changes to client scopes of work.

• Maintaining the head contract obligations register, variation register, claims register and commercial risk register.

• Ensuring contractual flow-down requirements are correctly incorporated into subcontracts.
