About the role
New Chapter Support is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Program Experience Leader (Services Coordinator) to join our team in Hobart.
This is a hands-on leadership role supporting our Child Safety and youth programs. We are looking for someone who is confident working with complex behaviours, trauma, young people with challenging backgrounds and high support needs.
Experience in Child Safety, Youth Justice, Out-of-Home Care, residential care, therapeutic services or similar environments is highly regarded.
About the roleAs a Program Experience Leader, you will:
Lead and support frontline teams delivering high-quality services to children and young people.
Build strong, trusting and professional relationships with young people.
Provide trauma-informed, person-centred and therapeutic support.
Support staff to respond appropriately to behaviours of concern and complex situations.
Work closely with Child Safety, Youth Justice, families, schools and other professionals.
Participate in care team meetings, case planning and stakeholder meetings.
Monitor participant wellbeing, incidents, risks and outcomes.
Support staff through challenging situations and provide mentoring and guidance.
Assist with rostering, staffing, onboarding and operational requirements.
Ensure programs are delivered safely, consistently and in line with relevant requirements.
Support continuous improvement and quality service delivery.
This is not a purely office-based leadership position.
You will be expected to be visible and involved in the programs you lead. This may include visiting homes, attending appointments, supporting staff on shift, assisting during complex situations and providing direct support to young people when required.
We want a leader who understands frontline work because they are willing to be part of it.
About youYou will be:
Experienced working with children and/or young people with complex needs.
Confident managing behaviours of concern and challenging situations.
Trauma-informed, calm and emotionally resilient.
Strong at building relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
A confident leader who can support and develop frontline staff.
Organised, practical and able to manage competing priorities.
Comfortable working collaboratively with external agencies and professionals.
Willing to be hands-on and lead by example.
Experience in Child Safety or Youth Justice is highly desirable.
Relevant qualifications in Social Work, Youth Work, Community Services, Psychology or a related field will be highly regarded.
RequirementsCurrent Working with Vulnerable People Registration.
Current unrestricted driver's licence.
Relevant experience in a leadership, coordination or senior frontline role.
