We're seeking an experienced Manager, Credit Approvals Level 2 to join our Credit Risk team and play a key role in supporting the continued growth of our Country Banking portfolio.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Credit Risk leadership team, you will be responsible for the approval and assessment of rural credit proposals and loan requests within delegated authority. Working closely with frontline Rural Banking teams, you'll provide expert credit guidance while ensuring lending decisions align with Rabobank's risk appetite, credit policy, and customer-focused approach.
This is an excellent opportunity for a senior rural banking or credit professional who enjoys balancing commercial outcomes with prudent risk management and values working in a collaborative, purpose-driven environment.
What You'll Be Doing
Assess and approve rural lending applications within delegated authority.
Review new lending requests, increased facilities, annual reviews, excesses, and loan variations.
Provide guidance to Relationship Managers and Rural Banking teams on credit submissions and account strategies.
Support and influence stakeholders to enhance the quality and effectiveness of credit applications.
Prepare recommendations for higher delegated authorities where .
Ensure timely turnaround of applications in accordance with service level agreements.
Monitor and manage portfolio risks, identifying deteriorating trends and emerging risks.
Contribute to the development and enhancement of credit policies, procedures, and lending practices.
Support strong risk governance and portfolio management outcomes across the Country Banking business.
What You'll Bring
Experience
Minimum 3 years' experience in rural lending in a similar position.
Strong banking experience with exposure to rural and commercial lending.
Proven credit assessment and decision-making experience within a delegated authority framework.
Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications in Agriculture, Accounting, Economics, Finance, Agribusiness, or a related discipline.
Technical Expertise
Strong credit analysis and commercial lending skills.
Ability to interpret financial statements, cash flows, balance sheets, and valuations.
Sound understanding of agricultural industries and rural production systems.
Proven capability in credit writing and presenting complex lending proposals.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Ability to influence and challenge constructively.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Collaborative mindset with the confidence to make balanced risk-based decisions.
Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality outcomes.
