Golf Course Superintendent

About the role

Green by Nature currently manage several golf courses across the eastern suburbs of Sydney and we are looking to build the capability of our team by bringing on an exceptional Golf Course Superintendent at Bondi Golf Club!

This role will be key in ensuring that the course under your care remains pristine - you will be instrumental in leading a team to maintain and enhance turf areas, ensuring they remain lush, healthy, and resilient. This hands-on role is all about delivering exceptional results that will please our client and their customers.

Responsibilities

Ready to take on an exciting challenge? The main areas you will be responsible for are:

• Completing all maintenance, agronomy and works programs for our client to uphold the quality and playability of turf surfaces
• Leading, motivating and inspiring a team to deliver work to the highest possible standards at all times whilst championing their development and well-being
• Monitoring turf health - proactively addressing issues such as pests, diseases, and compaction through appropriate cultural and chemical practices
• Collaborating seamlessly with the landscaping team to coordinate maintenance schedules, prioritise tasks, and deliver exceptional results
• Communicating effectively with the client to understand their expectations, address concerns, and provide expert turf care recommendations

About You

With a qualification in Sports Turf Management and recent experience working at a busy golf course, you are ready to lead a high performing team and exceed the expectations of the client. You are confident in your abilities to build and maintain excellent relationships with your clients.

Your knowledge of turfgrass species, growth habits, and maintenance requirements has been well honed through hands-on experience and you are confident implementing sustainable turf management practices, including water conservation strategies and innovative pest management techniques.

You have a current driver's licence and white card. You know that the operations of a golf course is a seven day a week concern and that some weekend work will be required.

You are very familiar with safely operating and maintaining turf care equipment and machinery to achieve optimal outcomes for your site. You have had exposure to financial management including cost control for operations within agreed budgets and providing monthly reporting for clients and management.
