About the role
About headspace Early Psychosis
We provide comprehensive early intervention services to young people aged 12 to 25 years. The Functional Recovery Team (FRT) promote the functional recovery of young people who are at risk of or have experienced their first episode of psychosis within an early intervention framework.
headspace Southport is operated by Lives Lived Well, a progressive, for purpose organisation, delivering leading edge clinical services aimed at supporting people to live their lives well.
About the role
We are looking for a full-time Psychologist to join our Functional Recovery Team. The position is based in Southport but will provide services across the headspace Early Psychosis cluster. If required, the Functional Recovery Clinician is expected to work flexible hours.
As a Clinician, you will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based therapeutic services. You will contribute to the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of individual and group therapy programs, including innovative approaches such as outdoor adventure-based interventions (e.g. surfing, kayaking and fishing). The role includes co-facilitating fitness and creative-based groups, alongside managing a 1:1 caseload, applying sound clinical judgement, participating in regular supervision, and supporting positive team functioning. You will also assist in maintaining effective relationships with community partners and external stakeholders to enhance client outcomes.
We are specifically seeking a Psychologist who can support assessment and report writing within the Functional Recovery Team for headspace Early Psychosis services. This includes conducting comprehensive psychological assessments, contributing to formulation-driven care, and producing clinical reports that help guide treatment planning and recovery pathways. Demonstrated familiarity with early psychosis frameworks is desirable, and a commitment to delivering recovery-oriented, youth-friendly, and evidence-based interventions that promote meaningful functional outcomes.
