About the role
AV Technicians Wanted | Senior + Junior Opportunities
Join TEK Co. Build cool tech. See more than the workshop walls.
TEK Co is growing, and we're looking for good people to grow with us.
We design, install and support audiovisual and technology solutions across South Australia, with a strong presence in education through TeachTEK, alongside commercial, government and specialist technology projects.
Our work isn't about installing the same thing in the same place every day.
One week you might be fitting out classrooms and interactive displays, the next commissioning a school hall, Teams Room, PA system, LED display or heading regional to deliver a complete technology upgrade.
We're currently looking for:
Senior Technical Lead | Full-Time
We're looking for an experienced technology technician who can confidently take ownership of installations, solve problems on site and deliver work to a high standard.
You'll be working across projects including:
Commercial AV installations
Interactive displays and large-format screens
Projection systems
Video conferencing and Microsoft Teams Rooms
PA, audio and microphone systems
Digital signage and LED
Wireless presentation systems
Equipment racks and structured AV infrastructure
Basic network-connected AV systems
System commissioning, testing and fault finding
Site surveys, upgrades and technology refresh projects
We're looking for someone who can do more than simply follow an install sheet.
You'll need to be comfortable thinking on your feet, communicating with clients, working independently when required and helping lead junior technicians on larger projects.
Experience within commercial AV, electrical, communications, integration or a similar technical field will be highly regarded.
Junior Technical Assistant | Part-Time with Potential Full-Time Opportunity
Maybe you've worked in AV before. Maybe you're an installer, cabler, tradie, IT person or just seriously good with tools and technology.
We're open to finding the right person with the right attitude and teaching them the rest.
This role will involve working alongside our technicians to:
Install displays, brackets and AV equipment
Assist with equipment racks and cabling
Set up and configure technology
Complete basic testing and commissioning
Prepare equipment before deployment
Assist with site installations and project rollouts
Learn commercial audiovisual systems from an experienced team
The junior position can initially be part-time, with the potential to develop into a full-time role for the right person.
We're less interested in whether you know every AV acronym on day one and more interested in whether you're practical, reliable, switched on and willing to learn.
Travel is part of the job
This bit is important. Travel is an essential requirement of both positions.
TEK Co delivers projects across metropolitan Adelaide, regional South Australia and occasionally further afield.
That means these aren't roles where you'll always clock on and off at the same location.
There will be:
Regional project work
Early starts from time to time
Overnight stays
Multi-day regional installations
Travel as part of project delivery
For the right person, it's also one of the best parts of the job. You get out, see different parts of the state, work on some fantastic sites and actually see the projects you've helped build come to life.
The person we're looking for
Across both roles, we value people who:
Take pride in their workmanship
Can work as part of a team
Are comfortable dealing with customers and school staff
Turn up when they say they will
Look after tools, equipment and vehicles
Can problem-solve rather than immediately throwing their hands in the air
Are willing to learn new systems and technologies
Understand that clean, tidy installation work matters
Can work safely and professionally on active sites
Are comfortable travelling for work
A current driver's licence and valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) are essential requirements for both roles. Relevant AV, communications, cabling, electrical, IT or construction experience is advantageous depending on the position.
Why TEK Co?
We're not a giant corporate integrator where you're technician number 247.
We're a growing South Australian technology business with a hands-on team and a genuine appetite for doing interesting work. You'll get exposure to a broad range of technology, brands and project types, with opportunities to develop your skills rather than being stuck doing one repetitive task.
We work hard, we back our team, and we like finding smarter ways to get things done.
If this sounds like your kind of workplace, we'd like to hear from you.
Send us your resume along with a short introduction telling us a bit about yourself, what you've worked on and why you think you'd be a good fit for TEK Co.
Come build some seriously good tech with us.
