About the role
About the jobMost SDR roles hand you a dialer and a script. This one hands you the room. You'll be filling events attended by the CIOs, CISOs and CFOs of the region's biggest companies — building the campaigns that reach them, making the calls that confirm them, and standing in the room when they arrive. We've called it Audience Growth rather than Sales Development because that's genuinely the job: the audience is the product, and it's yours to build. If you've got a few years of outbound behind you and you want the next one to actually build something, read on.
About FactorFactor runs the room where senior technology and business leaders actually show up. Our executive events — CIO Day, Security Day, Data+AI Day, CTO Day, CFO Day and CXO Afterhours — bring CIOs, CISOs, CTOs, CFOs and their peers together across Australia, Singapore and the Middle East. We also build Panelist, our own events and networking platform.Small team, senior audience, high standards.
The roleYou'll own the top of the funnel for a portfolio of executive events — and you'll own it end to end. That means the outbound: calls, emails, LinkedIn, chasing RSVPs, getting the right executives to commit. And it means everything that feeds the outbound: the campaigns, the lists, the segmentation, the reporting on what's converting. You'll be measured on one thing above all — how many of the right people are in the room, and how many of them actually turn up.
What you'll doOwn registration and show-rate targets for your events — the number is yoursRun outbound across phone, email and LinkedIn to reach senior executives directly, confirm attendance and chase RSVPsBuild, schedule and send marketing campaigns across email and LinkedIn — you build them, not a marketing team on your behalfOwn the database behind your outreach: segmentation, list hygiene, de-duping, data quality, CRM disciplineReport on what's working — connect rates, open rates, registrations, show-rates — and change your approach off what the numbers sayWork the events themselves: registrations, delegate management, on-site coordination, and meeting in person the executives you've spent weeks getting on the phoneWork closely with our sales and events teams so outbound, marketing and delegate targets line up
Read before you applyWe'd rather be upfront now than have you discover this in month three. So, plainly:This is not a pure dialing role. Roughly half your week is marketing execution — building campaign sends, cleaning lists, segmenting the database, pulling reports. If you want to spend eight hours a day on the phone and nothing else, you'll find this frustrating. There's no marketing team behind you. You build the email, you fix the list, you pull the numbers. Nobody hands you a warm, clean list to work from — you make it.There's no conveyor belt to an AE seat here. We're a lean events business, not a SaaS sales floor. The growth path is into demand generation, event management or broader marketing leadership — real, but it's not the standard sales ladder. Worth knowing now. You'll be at events, on your feet — greeting senior executives, networking, representing Factor in person. Some are evening dinners (CXO Afterhours) that run well past 5pm.There will be travel — between our Sydney and Singapore hubs and to events across the region, occasionally including the Middle East. It's a lean, fast-moving business. You'll wear several hats and priorities will shift. If you want a narrow, fixed lane, this isn't it.
None of this is a "sometimes, if we're desperate." It's the job — and for the right person, it's the best part.
Who you are3–5 years in outbound, SDR/BDR, or a B2B marketing role with a real outbound componentHave carried a number before — meetings, leads, registrations, pipeline — and are comfortable being measured on itUnbothered by the phone. Cold-calling a CIO's office doesn't rattle you, and you know how to earn 30 seconds of a senior person's attentionGenuinely hands-on with tools and data — you can build a send, clean an export and read a funnel yourselfHumble and coachable, with no ego — you'd rather learn something than be seen to be rightSharp and organised, with an obsessive eye for detail (a typo in a send to 2,000 CIOs is not a small thing)Reliable under deadline — you close loops without being chased
Nice to have (not dealbreakers)Working knowledge of a CRM or marketing automation platform (HubSpot, Salesforce, Outreach, Campaign Monitor or similar)B2B events, agency or tech/SaaS backgroundExperience selling or marketing to a C-suite audienceComfort with data — spreadsheets, list logic, cleaning messy exports
What success looks likeFirst 30 days — you know our events, our audience and our tools, you're making outbound calls confidently, and you're running sends independently off clean lists.60 days — you own the top of the funnel for your events end to end: the campaigns, the calls and the follow-up, with registrations moving because of you.90 days — you're accountable for registration and show-rate numbers across your portfolio, you're a trusted pair of hands on the event floor, and you're telling us what to change rather than waiting to be told.
Why it's worth itDirect exposure to the C-suite of the region's biggest companies — and unlike most outbound roles, you meet them in personReal ownership from day one; your work visibly moves the businessA front-row seat to both live events and a growing SaaS product (Panelist)Room to grow into demand gen, event management or broader marketing leadership as we scaleHybrid working — a flexible working model that balances office collaboration with remote workMental health days — dedicated mental health days each year so our team can recharge and maintain wellbeingPerformance-based incentives — access to a performance and commission structure aligned with team and company outcomes
