About Us
The Metropolitan Remand Centre (MRC) is a 954-bed maximum-security facility for unsentenced male offenders within the Department of Justice and Community Safety.
The Prison Intelligence Unit, Senior Prison Officers (PIU, SPO) role encompasses a range of teamwork, case management, custodial and security responsibilities.
What You Will Do
As senior prison officer – prison intelligence unit, you will support safe prison operations through intelligence work.
You will collect, assess and share information to help manage risks and make sound decisions.
You Will
produce clear intelligence reports, assessments, briefings and advice about prison safety and securitycoordinate focused intelligence activities, including searches, checks, monitoring programs and investigationsmaintain accurate intelligence systems, databases, registers and recordsmanage CCTV and digital evidence to support investigations and security workguide staff, share information and support safe and accountable prison operations
About You
Completion of Prison Officer Pre-service training is essential for this role.
You Should Also Have
strong computer skills and experience using spreadsheets, intelligence tools and prisoner management systemssound judgement and the ability to solve problems using information and clear reasoningclear communication skills to explain information in a concise and useful wayleadership skills to guide staff, share knowledge and support a respectful team
