Sip N Dine Indian Kitchen & Bar is looking for 2 experienced Indian Chefs to join our growing team at the iconic Penny Royal in Launceston, Tasmania.

We welcome applications from experienced chefs currently living anywhere in Australia who are already based in Launceston or are willing to relocate to Tasmania for the right opportunity.

IMPORTANT: Applicants must currently be living in Australia. Overseas applications will not be considered at this stage.

About the Role

We are looking for experienced Indian chefs who are passionate about authentic Indian cuisine and can work confidently in a professional commercial kitchen.

Depending on your experience, your responsibilities may include:

• Preparing authentic Indian curries, sauces and gravies
• Tandoor cooking, including tikka, kebabs and other tandoori dishes
• Preparing naan and other Indian breads
• Preparing and cooking dishes to consistent restaurant standards
• Food preparation and mise en place
• Maintaining portion control, presentation and food quality
• Working efficiently during busy lunch and dinner services
• Maintaining excellent food safety, cleanliness and hygiene standards
• Working effectively with the Head Chef and kitchen team

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience working in a commercial Indian kitchen
• Strong knowledge of authentic Indian cuisine
• Curry and/or tandoor experience highly regarded
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure
• Reliable, punctual and professional attitude
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to maintain consistent food quality
• Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays when required
